    01

    Basic principle

High pressure die casting, also known as pressure casting, is the melting of aluminum alloy into the mold cavity by high pressure, and then solidified under pressure. The process is known for its high efficiency, high precision and low reject rate, and is widely used in the production of aluminum alloy castings with complex shapes and high precision requirements.

The core advantage of high-pressure die casting is that it can significantly improve the density of aluminum alloy castings, and effectively reduce porosity and shrinkage defects. Under the action of high pressure, the aluminum alloy liquid can quickly and evenly fill the mold cavity, reducing the porosity caused by gas involvement.

    Process flow

Aluminum alloy melting: First, select the appropriate aluminum alloy (such as aluminum-silicon alloy, aluminum-copper alloy, aluminum-zinc alloy, etc.), and heat it in the melting furnace to the melting state (usually above 660℃) ‌

Injection mold: The molten aluminum alloy is injected into the pre-designed mold by die casting machine. The mold is usually composed of a fixed mold and a dynamic mold, and the aluminum alloy liquid is injected into the mold under high pressure, usually the pressure can reach hundreds to thousands of atmospheres ‌

Cooling and solidification: The molten aluminum alloy begins to cool and gradually solidify after entering the mold. A cooling channel is usually designed inside the mold to reduce the mold temperature through the flowing cooling water and accelerate the solidification process of aluminum alloy. The cooling time and the complexity of the mold will affect the quality of the final product ‌

‌Take out the casting: after the aluminum alloy casting is completely solidified, the moving die and the fixed die are separated, and the casting is taken out. This process requires special care to avoid damage to the casting ‌

‌Post treatment: After taking out the casting may need to undergo subsequent processing, such as removing the gate, flash, burr, grinding, polishing, or heat treatment to improve strength and hardness. In addition, surface treatment, such as anodizing, spraying, etc., can also be performed to improve appearance and corrosion resistance ‌

    Application field

Aluminum alloy high pressure die casting technology is widely used in aerospace, automobile manufacturing, electronic communication and other fields. For example, in the manufacture of aircraft engine components, high-pressure die casting technology can ensure the density of the internal structure of the casting, thereby improving the mechanical properties and service life of the parts.
